How to Use Your Electric Pump

Step 1 — Connect the Hose to the Pump

Your electric pump has 2 connections — one for inflate and one for deflate. Choose according to whether you are inflating or deflating your board.

Pro Tip

If you hear a loud whistle noise when using your electric pump, the hose might be connected using the wrong end. Try reversing it.

Step 2 — Find the Right Seal

Various rubber sealing washers are provided with your kit. Test several to see which one best connects and seals the hose from your pump to the valve on your inflatable board.

The Wild Tribe boards work with the rubber sealing that comes pre-installed on our electric pumps.

Step 3 — Connect to the Valve

Connect the hose to the valve on the board and secure it by pressing and turning to engage the hooks inside the valve.

Pro Tip

Utilize the natural curvature of your pump hose so the hose goes downward before connecting to the valve. This prevents the hose from popping out due to stiffness.

Step 4 — Set PSI and Start Pumping

Set your desired PSI on the pump's display (20 PSI recommended for most TWT boards). Press start and let the pump do the work. It will automatically stop when the target pressure is reached.

The entire process takes about 7-12 minutes depending on board size and target PSI.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use my electric pump with a car battery?
Yes, most electric pumps come with a 12V car adapter. Connect it to your car's cigarette lighter or 12V outlet. Make sure the car is running to avoid draining the battery.
Why does my electric pump stop before reaching target PSI?
The pump may be overheating. Let it cool down for a few minutes and restart. Some pumps have thermal protection that auto-stops to prevent damage. The pump might also stop if your car battery is running low.
Can I also deflate with the electric pump?
Yes. Connect the hose to the deflate port and switch the pump to deflate mode. This removes air much faster than manual deflation.
